A roof certification documents the remaining useful life of your roof for homeowners insurance carriers. Carriers ask for it when they need proof of roof condition rather than a full four point inspection.
What we document
- Remaining useful life of the roof
- Covering material, type of material, condition, visible damage, and wear and tear
- Photos of each slope of the roof
On a roof certification we enter the attic to check the underside of the roof deck for leaks and staining. A roof certification does not document straps or roof-to-wall connections. That is part of a wind mitigation inspection.
What the inspector needs access to
- Exterior and roof
- Attic access for the underside leak check
